Bell Spring to Big Shoals

Today we had another work hike for the Florida Trail Association. This was a pretty short out and back but it was very nice as most of the trail followed the Suwanee River. We had a good turnout and great weather. It started out very cool in the morning but warmed up nicely. Just thought I’d share a few pictures from the day.

  1. Awesome photos! I was up that way a few weeks ago, and attempted a kayaking trip from White Springs. Incredibly low water all the way to Spirit of the Suwannee. From Stephen Foster State Park to Woods Ferry River Camp was pretty rough going! Should have taken a hike on the FT instead. 🙂

    • Thanks, Kevin! I couldn’t believe that the water seemed even lower than when I hiked this section back in Feb. On one hand it’s cool to stand in the middle of class III rapids but on the other it’s sad to see it so low. If you try again and can’t hit the water I’d definitely hit the trail. This is probably my favorite section.
